HTC’s Touch Diamond

The iPhone is finally facing some viable competition, as HTC recently unveiled their new Touch Diamond touchscreen phone. It measures slightly smaller and lighter than the iPhone at 4 by 2 by .45 inches, and weighing in at 3.9 ounces. Contrary to the current iPhone it comes with full compatibility for corporate exchange serves, and Microsofts Mobile Office Suite. With a 2.8 inch screen diagonally, full VGA resolution, 4GB internal memory, and the expected handful of functions like messaging, music, photos, and web access, this little puppy might just bump the iPhone on my wish list.

iPhone Goes Corporate

iphone
It appears that the appeal of the iPhone has spread far beyond your average trend-seeking gadget enthusiast, and into the hands of corporate America. Despite being designed for consumer use, Apple has reportedly captured 28 percent of the smart phone market, a figure not surprising to me judging by the fact that these days I can’t grab a cup of coffee without someone at my office wasting 20 minutes of my life by pulling me aside and raving about a new feature on their iPhone. This trend has apparently been a cause for concern for some workplaces since the iPhone currently does not have the same security features as other phones, and cannot guarantee its data to be secure. Nonetheless, companies like Salesforce.com, Sun Microsystems, and IBM, are developing iPhone compatible versions of their business applications to capitalize on the growing popularity of the phone.Sadly I am still without one since my cellular contract with Verizon doesn’t expire for another 6 months, at which point in time I plan on purchasing one, installing every single third-party application available, and annoying the hell out of every person i come in contact with.

iPhone Drummer

Here’s just one more reason I wish I had an iPhone. By “jailbraking” your iPhone you can add third party applications such as the Drummer, and spend your afternoon staring at something else than your computer screen.
