Office Desks: Part 12

Am I the only one who still loves the design qualities of the classic roll top desk?  Just found this one while on my quest for a new office desk.  The All American Cherry Emerson Cylinder Roll Top Desk II (could they have named it something longer?) has one pullout writing surface, one utility drawer, and three drawers behind the rolltop.

The desk is available from  Computer Desks N More for $1049.

Office Desks: Part 5

During my quest for a new office desk I came upon what is supposedly the worlds most expensive desk. The custom desk was made by a company called Parnian Furniture which is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and retails for a mere $200,000. This “power desk” is characterized by exotic wood inlays and burls, and makes use of 6 different types of wood, as well as a custom cast piece of glass. While I think it’s certainly a beautiful desk, there are a couple things I found rather strange about it. First, I really don’t like the wave design on the front of the desk and find it quite distracting, and secondly, while the desk hardly looks as old as the rolltop desk currently in my office, I figured that a desk that costs that much would have more of a contemporary look to it.

More pics of the desk after the jump.
